It's been a long time since I did one of these. I am really grateful for quite a lot. Really!
- My mom. She comes over to hang out and ends up cleaning at least one room in my house, usually the kitchen. As if she didn't have enough going on! She's raising a 1st grader and a grumpy teenager and caring for my wonderful grandparents in her home. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She is a wonderful example of faith, charity and humility. Love ya mom!
- My Nanny. Another strong woman in my life. She is a breast cancer survivor. She taught me how to sew and crochet. I got my love for cooking from her. She has always loved me no matter what, and she always seems to know what I need and when -- no matter the distance between us. She and Papa aren't in good health anymore, and it's difficult to adjust to relying on others. I feel like a bystander. There's not much I can do to help, regardless of my desire. Love ya Nanny!
- My skills. I wouldn't call it a talent, because I'm not great at it, but I'm glad I learned how to sew. It's been a stressful few weeks, trying to get Halloween costumes ready for the boys. I didn't read through the pattern ahead of time to see how difficult it was. It was a little out of my league. I used the seam ripper often, but the costumes are done, and they turned out better than I had imagined that they would. (pictures coming soon.)
- My garden. I absolutely love my garden tomatoes and peppers. They are so tasty! We are supposed to have a cold front this week. I really hope that doesn't mean the end of my garden. I still have blooms! I planted a few winter plants, but I'm not as excited about spinach. I already have big ideas for the spring.
